Saint George's Choir is faithfully served by volunteer singers and paid section leaders, all of whom bring considerable experience, skill and passion to their art. The choir's repertoire is inspired by the English Cathedral tradition, from William Byrd to John Tavener. Each Sunday, the choir sings a different setting of the Mass, a Communion motet, in addition to the weekly round of plainsong psalms and hymns. The choir also sings for major feast days as the days occur throughout the Christian Year. Choral Evensong is held once a month from October to May. Saint George's Choir is an integral part of parish life, singing for requiems and, on occasion, weddings.
Choir rehearsals take place at 7.30-9.30pm on Thursdays.

And our programmes for younger singers:
Junior Choir: Ages 6-12
This group meets on Tuesdays 6-7pm in the Guild Room in the Parish Hall. The Junior Choir welcomes children 6-12 years old who enjoy singing and making music. Strong emphasis is placed on learning to sing in a healthy, musical way. Informal instruction on music theory is also included during the weekly rehearsals. The Junior Choir repertoire draws on a variety of musical style, and is intended to enhance the Christian Education appropriate to this age group.
Cherubs: Children under 6 years old.
Each Sunday following the 10.30 service, our Music Director Garth MacPhee leads an informal singing circle for preschoolers and their mothers. The Cherubs meet in the Guild Room, adjacent to the Parish Hall where Coffee Hour takes place. The music is geared for children under 6 yrs old. The songs are simple and enjoyable, intended to cultivate a love of singing and making music together. All are welcome!
